First Aid is changing and is now so simple to learn and apply when you train with Simply First Aid. This is our most popular First Aid course and teaches participants the knowledge and skills to provide first aid and basic life support until the arrival of medical assistance. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to multiple first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This First Aid course covers adult and child conditions.

By the end of this training course, students will:
  • Be confident in recognising an emergency situation
  • Understand and demonstrate competence in the Primary Survey (DRSABCD)
  • Be confident in performing CPR with 1 or 2 First Aiders
  • Know how to safely use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Know how to provide basic first aid for bleeding, shock, asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Be confident in managing bone and joint injuries
  • Understand the management for burns, bites, stings and poisoning
  • Demonstrate an understanding of chest, abdominal, pelvic and head injuries
  • Be familiar with the basic structure and function of the human body
  • Know how to provide an accurate verbal report of the incident
     +  Course Duration
As of 30th November, 2016 we will be implementing our popular blended-delivery style of training to all public courses.
  • Up to 4 hours online theory pre-work (dependant on individual speed of learning), AND
  • 6.5 hours face-to-face training (scenario-based learning)
     +  Entry Requirements

Online Pre-Study:

  • Pre-study MUST be completed PRIOR to attending the practical training day. 
  • Students without a signed certificate of pre-study completion may not be granted entry to the classroom
  • Pre-study is recommended to be completed using a laptop or desktop with good internet speed.
  • Pre-study will take between 1 to 4 hours depending on internet speed and speed of the learner
Paper-Based Pre-Study:
  • Pre-study MUST be completed PRIOR to attending the practical training day.
  • Students arriving without a completed & signed pre-study booklet may not be granted entry to the classroom
  • Pre-study will take between 30min to 4 hours depending on how thoroughly you review the manual and speed of the learner

Student Age:

  • Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance
  • A consent form must be completed by the parent/legal guardian of students under the age of 18yrs and handed to the instructor on the day of training. Failure to supply this form will result in the student being denied access to training. Download the consent form

Refresher Students:

  • A refresher is only valid for those students who hold a current First Aid certificate with the code HLTAID003
  • Students enrolling in the refresher course must bring their valid First Aid certificate for verification by the trainer

Physical Capability:

  • Students must be physically able to perform uninterrupted CPR for 2 minutes on an Adult on the ground and 2 minutes on an Infant on a firm surface to meet the assessment requirements described in the Assessment Requirements ( of this qualification.

  • This certificate remains valid for 3 years.
